We keep it simple. Running a company in Belgium is stressful enough.
Type a name, address or VAT number. We cover all of Belgium, even if you type with two left thumbs.
CBE, NACE code, we keep adding... Your uncle would say: 'It's all public anyway.'
No 147-page PDFs. No 'click here for balance total' circus. Just: what you need to know. And most of it is free. Because we get it from the government too. They just don't do it well.
You know if it's a real company or three guys with a mailbox. P.S. We don't even have a mailbox.
Yeah, why not actually?
We're not the biggest. We don't have the most features. But we're definitely the coolest to use.
Built with modern tech. No Java applets. No 4-second wait to load a page.
Our pages are exactly how you want company info to be: simple, clear, and without 27 tabs of numbers you never use.
Not for accountants with three screens and a 200 euro calculator.
If we don't know something, we say so. You don't need nonsense, you need info.
For everyone who doesn't like paying for public information.
Is the company real? Are they still active? How long have they existed? All questions you can answer without opening your wallet.
Freelancers and accountants: type the number and you'll know instantly if it checks out. Simple.
Check the NACE codes, establishments and start date of your competitors. Knowledge is power — and here it's free.
You know how it goes. 'I started a company.' Okay, prove it. Here's the link.
* Yes, WORK IN PROGRESS
No revenue or balance sheets yet? Coming soon. Rome wasn't built in a day. But we're aiming for two.
Spoiler: we win. But everyone says that.
We load faster
We cost less
It might cost something someday, but at least not your data (well, except your company data, thanks!)
* We refrain from comparing ourselves to the government (CBE) since we intend to deliver a working product.
Like a good bowl of soup at grandma's.
Everything you want to know (and more)
Databakkes is a free platform that collects all public company information from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) and presents it clearly. Enterprise number, address, NACE codes, establishments — all in one place.
Type the VAT or enterprise number in the search bar at the top. Databakkes finds the company directly, with or without the 'BE' prefix. You can also search by company name or address.
An enterprise number is a unique 10-digit number (format 0XXX.XXX.XXX) assigned to every Belgian enterprise upon registration with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises. It also serves as the VAT number with a 'BE' prefix.
Yes, Databakkes is completely free. All displayed data comes from public government sources like the CBE. A Pro version with extra features may come later.
Search for the company on Databakkes by name, address or VAT number. The status (active, ceased, bankrupt) is shown right at the top of the company page. Active companies get a green dot, ceased ones a red dot.
On every company page on Databakkes, the NACE-BEL activity codes are written out in words. You can also browse all NACE codes via our dedicated NACE code page and search by sector. Want to learn more? Read our complete guide on NACE codes.
Type the VAT number (with or without the BE prefix) into the search bar on Databakkes. We instantly show whether the number is valid, which company it belongs to, and whether that company is still active.
The KBO (Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen) or CBE (Crossroads Bank for Enterprises) is the official Belgian database where all enterprises and establishment units are registered. Databakkes pulls its data from the KBO and presents it in a readable way.
We're still building and looking for input from cool companies. What features are missing? What would feel fair to pay for? Throw it in our face.
You're curious. Go ahead.
